SPRINGTIME FRESH

I did another card last night to give to a little girl named Adrianna.  I had given her some of my old pattern paper that I had for sometime to just use as she would like... and I have heard from her Grandma that she loves playing with it.  I also had sent her Grandma a birthday last year and that child plays with the card just about everytime she goes to her Grandma house.  Adrianna sent me a thank you card that she had made so I thought I would just send her a card.

MASCULINE CARD FOR MY BROTHER-IN-LAW

I made this card for my bother-in-law today his birthday is this weekend and he will be 74 years old.  I sort of struggle a bit with the masculine cards for some reason... I guess it is because I like the ribbons and bows!!!  But if I would do a few at  a time I think it would go a bit better because once I started working on this card it seemed a lot of ideas popped in to my mind.  On the outside of this card it states "The car is Vintage" and on the inside of the card I put "You are Antique!   Happy Birthday and many more!"

PURPLE ROSE MOTHER'S DAY CARD

Hello everyone,
Mother's day is just around the corner so I decide to make a card for my granddaughter to give to her Mom... It will be ready for when she will ask for it... :)  I did the outside so it will be ready for her to put what she wants inside.  Oh I can hear her now ... asking for a 2nd Mother's day card for her boyfriend's mother.  But that is wonderful because I love making cards.   The purple rose Mother's day card was made with the spellbinder's dies...even the roses and the other flower were made with spellbinder's dies.  I just love spellbinder's dies!!!  Can't you tell? Now that  this card is done I need to do 3 more cards for the other 3 grandchildren so they can have a card to give.   I wonder since the youngest is 6 years old and a boy if it would be ok to make a card with a car on it for Mother's day??? I think that would be what he would want to do.  Oh I think I will put some things in a box and give to them so they can all make their own cards.
If my Mom was still here on this earth I would send her a card just like this one because she loved roses.  Miss her a bunch!!!

Spellbinder's dies:  Shapeabilities Persian Accents, Rose Creations and one of the Edgeabilites classic insert.

COWGIRL BIRTHDAY CARD

I think this little cowgirl is one of the cutest little girls in town... she is a digital stamp from The PAPER SHELTER.  I have a granddaughter that loves horses so I thought this would be great card for her.  Her birthday isn't until September.... So I  can put her name on the list of the cards that are done!  I need to get busy and make about 5 guy cards ... there are 3 guy birthdays in May... that includes our Great grandson's, son's and my Brother-in-law's.

On this card I also used 3 spellbinder dies.

YES TODAY WAS A SNOW DAY IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Well woke up to 5 to 7 inches in our  back yard this morning... I decided to take a few picture to put in the scrapbook.  And as I look out my window right now it is snowing again but at least most of the snow has fallen out/off the trees.  So lets more on to something a bit warmer looking.....

As I said yesterday I would be spending some time in my craft room which I have been in here most of the day so I do have one card to add...but I have also been doing some clean up too... so I could find some things.  I went looking for cards on the internet last night and did find lots of lovely cards but one seem to stand out and it was one that used one of my spellbinders dies... I tried to make something with this die today and this card is what I came up with... hope you like it.

SNOW DAY TOMORROW

Hi Everyone,
Spring is not here in Ohio... it is snowing outside right now... and they are calling for 4 to 6 inches of snow for my area by tomorrow afternoon... That means lots of craft room time tomorrow.  I am getting cabin fever and I am really wanting to go outside to work  in my 11 flower beds, oops, make that 10 flower beds we did do away with one last fall and planted grass in that area.  It is looking as if I won't be outside any time this week.   Maybe next week!!!!  I hope!!!

Well since I have had the time I made two very simply cards today with my new spellbinder's dies.

Cartridges: Accent Essentials (flowers)

SPRING IS COMING !!!

We are not sure when... but Spring will be here soon... We still hope so!!!  So I decided to make very Spring-like card hoping that Mother Nature would see it and correct the weather soon. :)

Cartridge: Accent Essentials
Spellbinder's dies too.

PUNXSUTAWNEY  PHIL, THE OHIO GROUNDHOG HAS BEEN INDICTED

Hi Everyone,

Hope some of you are having some wonderful spring weather!!!  I hear that the ground hog here in Ohio has been indicted.  Punxsutawney Phil's decidedly incorrect prediction has him in some seriously hot water.  Mr Gmoser has  enter a one-count indictment accuses Phil of "the offense of misrepresentation of early spring, an unclassified felony, and against the peace and dignity of the state of Ohio" so one of the TV news channel states. :)  Yesterday morning it was 10 degrees here and today I think it made it up to 34 degrees.  Oh boy are we all wanting some warm weather!!!!  I hear there is another snow storm coming in a few days....

Well with the cold weather I have been staying inside enjoying my craftroom time.
But I did have to journey out to do a bit of shopping last week.   At JoAnn's there was a good sale on Spellbinder's Dies 40%  savings and at a local craft store there were some embossing folders on sale for $1.00 so I picked up some of those too.
So I have been trying them all this week and even completed a few cards.

Here is the first one I did using my new spellbinder's dies and even the very small hearts are pieces cut by the dies so decided to use a few on this card instead throwing them away.

MY FOUR LEAF CLOVER

Hi Everyone, I have been busy this last week or so running around with my hubby looking for a new Radio Control Car.  Our son-in-law, Scott, has a couple of them and has got my hubby interested in them...  So we were off looking for parts and maybe a new car.  Well so far we did find the parts he needed to get his older car going... So hubby, Scott and our grandson went out to drive their cars and trucks so I had some time in my craft room... I did get two cards done but forgot to get a picture of one so I will just be posting this one for now..

I  made this card for my daughter... for her to give to her hubby.  His birthday is on St Patrick's Day.

SPOTTED PUPPY FRIENDS FUR-EVER

I loved doing the first doggy card so much I decided to try to make the spotted doggy on the cricut cartridge Create A Critter 2.  I did the hair the same as I did on the first card ...by using a squashed flower from Mother's Day Bouquet cricut cartridge.  But this time I also try to make it look a bit more shaggy...by making cuts in the flower here and there.  Plus I made two squashed flowers... one colored cream and the other colored brown... and cut them into two pieces so I could make the hair 2 toned to match the doggy's head...I did match the two-tone hair to the two-tone head this time...but next time I am not so sure it would line up so well... pure luck this time I guess.  Below the card is more info about doing that Spotted Puppy.

Cartridges:  Create A Critter 2
                   Mother's Day Bouquet.

Other Items used:  Cardstock, printed paper, Baker's Twine and Peachy Keen 1 3/8 inches Happy go-lucky dog face.

Challenges:  Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge
                     Exploring Cricut
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #150 Fun with Puns
My Crafty Spot Monday Challenge #88 Pop It Up

You can get the Cricut Craft Room file for this spotted puppy here.

These are the squashed flowers... glue the tan flower on top of the brown flower.
There is a dotted line on the tan flower in the picture above so if you cut it in that area it should work well to match up with the head of the puppy at least mine did.

Now glue the  half tan and half brown pieces to the full brown flower... I then cut the flower petals  into more petals so it looks a bit more shaggy (see the card above).
Then glue the flower to the puppy's head.

THE EASTER BUNNY TREAT BOX

Here is an Easter Bunny Basket that I have made for one of my grandchildren.  I like to make different things for each grandchild for each holiday.  Hope they like it but for sure they will like the candy.   My hubby loves those little cupcakes that come in clear plastic box so I decide to clean up the plastic box and reuse it for this project.

Cartridges:  Craft Room Basics, Flower Shoppe.
Other Items Used:  Glue, black beads for eyes (I used 2 darice paste-on Eyes and colored them with a black Sharpie Marker because I wanted the eyes to look a bit larger.  One 3-D Glue Zot (to make the nose stand out) and a flower brad to hold the flower together.  For the whiskers I just cut some very thin strips of purple card stock  Ruffle/ribbon around the bunny's neck.

You can get the cricut craft room file here.

The picture above is to let you know what each of the items in the cricut craft room file are for.  I inked up the edges on some parts of the bunny for more detail then I assembled the bunny.  I formed a L-shape piece of cardstock to glue to back of bunny head and to the top of the plastic box so the head would stand up.  I also glued the bunny feet to the front of the box. Of course don't forget the bunny tail (cotton tail) on the back of the box.

Here is another version by just adding an oval shape for the body the same size as the head and add two paws.

EASTER CARD #1

Hi Everyone,
Oh today didn't start off so good ... yesterday my internet service was down off and on all day... so I just finally gave up and called the phone company... about 5 different times...and this morning completely down. so they sent a repairmen today and he fixed it and left but soon I had to make another phone phone call... he came right back and repaired it again this time waited around to see... and sure enough it was back up and running.   Come to find out that snow storm in Kansas did it... I live in Ohio but what happened was their main office is in Kansas and during the big snow storm  their system went down  but when it came back up there were some problems... my internet one of them....  so they had to run some tests and reset the system which a tech in Kansas did but he forgot to save it...so that is why the repairmen had to revisit and have them do it all over again.  So I have been up and running for a few hours now... all is good again with my internet but not so good with the weather... a ice storm hit here this morning so sorry for those that have to get out in this mess.... but for me this means I can stay in and play in my craft room.
So I have started on my Easter Cards... Here is the first one:

Cartridge:  Create a Critter (dog cut at 3.5 inches)
                 Art Philosophy  (egg )
Mother's Day Bouquet (a flower squashed for the hair on doggy's head)
Peachy Keen ( 1 3/8 inches -  Happy go lucky dog face assortment)
Embroidery floss from Close to my Heart.
                 Spellbinder's nestabilities Classic scalloped ovals.

CONGRATS CARD FOR NEW JOB

My daughter has a new job and it has been one she has wanted for sometime.  So I had to send her a card to let her know how proud we are of her.  The digi stamp is Coffee Break from The Paper Shelter.  For the Congrats word art I used the cartridge Cindy Loo.

I have posted this card over at Raq's Card Sketch Challenge.  Also entered it in the   The Paper Shelter Blog Challenge 97 All Wrapped Up (She is all wrapped up in her new job).

VALENTINE CARD
I have been busy with my Granddaughter lately due to her having surgery on her leg again... She had broken her leg back in April of last year and they had to put it back together with 2 plates and 15 screws... well the bones mended  ok but for some reason she has been fighting infection after infection since April.  So they decided to take the plates and screws back out so that the infection will go away.  Wow she is feeling so so much better now... she has to have antibiotic  IV therapy for a while at home but she is on the mend....and she will mostly likely be out of school for 3 weeks.  So all her grandmothers are stepping in to take care of her while she is out of school.  So I have not been in my craft room for a while but I wanted to post this Valentine card.  TFL....

The lips are from the Indie Art Cartridge.

CANDY SUCKER FLOWER ARRANGEMENT
Hi    wow it is cold outside!!! and I am staying inside  today.  I am so ready for spring.   So today I made a   cute little flower arrangement made with suckers and valentine conversation heart candies.  It was so easy to make.  I use flowers from  Art Philosophy cartridge (flower8 in two different sizes cut 1 at 3 inches and cut 1 at 2 1/2 inches  and 2 each of the  flower1 cut at 1 3/4 inches).  Glue the 4 flowers together, made a hole in the middle of all four flowers and put the stucker stick through the middle.  The vase is just a little plastic wine type glass that was located in my local grocery store filled with valentine conversation candies then I added the stucker flowers. Now that was easy and if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them.   TFL!!!

FLOWER FROG

Hi!  It is Sunday here and we are still having a bit of mild weather before the cold comes roaring back...just hope not too cold and I am already done with the snow... let's more on to spring!!!

I have seen that some of you are standing your cards up on a stand that looks like a bunch of nails... so I went looking for a picture of that item but had a hard time finding a picture because of not knowing what it was called so I did some asking around and a friend told me that it is called a frog.   So I went looking and it seems that they are called Flower Frogs... so I told my hubby I wanted one made, showed him a picture and he made me one. :)

  Wish BIG!

For this card I didn't have a candle on my cartridges that I wanted to use so I made up my own using pieces and parts from the cartridges I have... For the top (drippy wax) part of the candle I use the cake from Everyday Pop Up Cards... for the stick part of the candle I use the rectange from Plantin Schoolbook... and the flame is from the Everyday Pop Up Cards made into three different sizes.  I really like the Cricut Craft Room.

ONE MORE BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is one more card for mom and grandmas to choose from..... I used spellbinder's die the classic large oval and the Happy Birthday is computer generated.... and  the little lady is from The Paper Shelter.. she is so darn cute... plus she was already colored (this part I love because I don't use copic markers)  I need to learn how to use them but I don't want to stop making cards and take the time... maybe some day.  I did change the color of her hair in photoshop because I just had to have red hair on her....I also did this for the challenge over at Raq's Card Challenge on the Cricut.com.

Birthday Cards

Here are a few birthday cards that I have made for my granddaughters.... My two oldest granddaughters were born in Jan on the same day 2 years apart... so we have always celebrated their birthdays on the same day.   So it is time to start making some cards for them.... I need to make 10 or so cards because my daughter needs 2, her mother in law needs 2 and I of course need 2... that way they can pick out the ones they like....so here are three cards I have finished.
